Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Magnus Aconte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Hawke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Magnus Aconte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aconte swats away the attempt to clinch by Hawke.
Hawke tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Aconte counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Aconte is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Aconte accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Aconte throws an elbow that misses. Hawke uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Aconte's guard. Nice move by Hawke!

Hawke wanted to stand there but Aconte had control of the position.
Aconte escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hawke gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

This has been an exciting period of action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hawke stands and steps away. Aconte gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Kevin Hawke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aconte shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hawke sprawls well. Hawke wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Aconte gets slowly back to his feet.
Hawke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Aconte swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Aconte shoots in for a takedown but Hawke shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hawke looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Hawke throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Aconte's waist but Aconte gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hawke off to one side.

Hawke stuffs the takedown attempt from Aconte. Aconte gets slowly back to his feet.
Hawke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Aconte swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Aconte leaves Hawke with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hawke lands with a kick to the temple. Aconte shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Hawke pushes Aconte off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hawke tries to close the distance and clinch but Aconte swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Aconte swats away the attempt to clinch by Hawke.
Aconte shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hawke as he jumps to the side.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hawke shoots in and drives through. Aconte sprawls well.
Hawke moves in looking to clinch but Aconte pushes him off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hawke is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Aconte is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hawke is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Aconte goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hawke rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Aconte's guard! Nice work there by Hawke!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Hawke is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Aconte has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Hawke is looking to defend but Aconte has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Hawke! Aconte pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Hawke taps out and this one is all over!
