The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oreilly closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nicholes to the mat! Nicholes manages to get full guard.
Oreilly scoring with punches to the head and body.

Oreilly swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Nicholes is now in Oreilly's guard. A big mistake from Oreilly there, giving up the dominant position!

Oreilly stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nicholes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Oreilly has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Oreilly rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nicholes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nicholes throws a right and a left that both miss.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nicholes moves in looking to clinch but Oreilly pushes him off.
Nicholes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Oreilly is fending him off so far but Nicholes persists. Nope, Oreilly circles away and we're back to standing.
Nicholes misses with a takedown attempt - Oreilly sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Oreilly feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
