The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Silva throws a head kick that misses.

Rodwell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Silva, pushing him back against the cage.

Rodwell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Silva tries to clinch

and Rodwell counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Silva is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Rodwell works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Silva tries to roll over but Rodwell keeps him under control.

Silva is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Rodwell has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Silva is tapping! This fight is all over!
