PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Tadlock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hawk Gunner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Shigeki Fujiwara and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tadlock shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gunner counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Gunner throws a lazy uppercut
and Tadlock counters with a two punch combo.
Gunner lands a nice hook to Tadlock's body. Tadlock takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tadlock is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A lazy left from Gunner finds it's target.
Gunner throws a series of strikes that have Tadlock backpedaling.

Gunner feints and as Tadlock raises his hands in defense, Gunner changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gunner slips nicely into half guard.
Gunner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Gunner in particular looking to stall.

Gunner is working for a kimura but Tadlock is defending it quite comfortably.

Gunner content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Tadlock is staying active underneath Gunner, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Tadlock wants to get back to full guard.
Tadlock is working hard here to advance position.
Gunner stalling.
Gunner wants to pass to mount but Tadlock is defending the position.

Tadlock is looking for a sweep. Gunner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Gunner controlling the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Hawk Gunner.
Tadlock takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Gunner digs a good body shot into Tadlock's ribs.
Tadlock is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gunner lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Tadlock sprawling to the canvas. Gunner follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Tadlock hang on?

Tadlock is rocked!

It looks like Andrew Tadlock has been cut.
Gunner scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Oh Tadlock is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gunner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tadlock is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gunner scores with a couple of nice shots.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gunner lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Tadlock quite badly. Tadlock pulls Gunner in close trying to recover. Gunner postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Tadlock on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Tadlock doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hawk Gunner!
