The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akim has a takedown stuffed.

Akim closes the distance and clinches.

It looks like Hassan Akim has been cut.

Akim shoots in for a takedown but Livah shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Akim might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Livah kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Akim got a little sloppy there for a moment and Livah has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Akim has managed to get both his arms back between Livah's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Horrible takedown by Akim or perhaps it was just good defense by Livah which made him look bad.

Akim working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Livah doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Livah manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
