Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bones Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rory Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz has chosen Youssoupha - Ne Compare Pas as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones throws a right hand that misses
and Diaz counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Diaz slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Jones throws a right and a left that Diaz avoids nicely.
A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target.
Diaz throws a right and a left that both miss.
Diaz misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Jones does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Diaz throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Diaz counters with a left to the body.

Diaz throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jones on the side of the head.
Diaz takes a swing at Jones's ribcage but misses.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Jones throws a right and a left that Diaz avoids nicely.
Jones throws a leg kick
and Diaz counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Jones is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Diaz.
A jab lands there for Jones.
Bones Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz throws a solid leg kick but Jones takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Diaz.
Diaz misses with a jab, cross combination.

Diaz thows a body shot but no joy.

and Diaz counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard.

Diaz is rocked!
Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Diaz manages to get himself to full guard.
Diaz is still in real trouble! Can Jones finish him?
Diaz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones passes Diaz's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Jones has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Jones looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Diaz covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!

In his post fight interview, Bones Jones started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
