Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgarry fails to land the takedown.
Mcgarry shoots for a double leg takedown but Hong sprawls well. He's pushed Mcgarry's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hong shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Mcgarry eats them both and turns towards Hong to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Hong tries for a takedown but Mcgarry circles away easily
and Mcgarry counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Hong wants to get back to full guard.
Mcgarry wants to take a breather but Hong is having none of it.
Hong is looking for a sweep. Mcgarry is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Hong wants to control but Mcgarry is keeping busy.

Mcgarry is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Hong defends it well.
Hong pushes Mcgarry off looking to stand but Mcgarry dives back in and keeps control.

Mcgarry is pressing down on Hong's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hong is holding on for now.
Hong trying to control but Mcgarry postures up.
Mcgarry is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Mcgarry is looking to pass Hong's guard but actually Hong recovers to full guard.

Mcgarry is pushing down on Hong's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hong is fighting to maintain full guard but Mcgarry has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mcgarry is looking for a kimura but Hong is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Mcgarry to get the leverage.
Mcgarry is working for a kimura but Hong is defending it quite comfortably.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mcgarry is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Mcgarry stands and throws Hong's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Sloppy strikes there by Mcgarry.
Mcgarry is working to tighten is grip on Hong's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Hong has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Mcgarry is really squeezing tight and eventually Hong passes out! Mcgarry breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
