PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mohamed Adbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mateus Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adbo's corner calls for a 1-2. Adbo obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
A combination from Adbo does no damage.

Allen moves into the clinch.
Adbo can't find room to land a body shot as Allen controls the action.
Adbo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Adbo wants to get back to striking at distance but Allen won't allow it.

Allen has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Adbo is trying to keep an underhook but Allen manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Allen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Adbo is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Allen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Allen shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Adbo's guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mateus Allen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Allen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Adbo tries to avoid it but Allen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Adbo to the ground. Adbo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Allen takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Allen connects with a crisp jab.

Adbo is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Adbo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mateus Allen hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Allen has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Allen there as he acknowledges the shot.

You can see the frustration on Adbo's face as Allen controls the position.
Let's hope that Allen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
