Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flaubert Canto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves's entrance music is Trik Turner - Friends and Family. A fine choice. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Alves looks to land a combination but Canto avoids it well.
Alves bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Canto's head.
Alves ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Alves swats away the attempt to clinch by Canto.
The fighters circling - Alves throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

It looks like Flaubert Canto has been cut.
Canto tries to clinch up but Alves circles away and keeps his distance.
Alves uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Canto.

Alves throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Canto's waist but Canto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alves off to one side.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alves keeps control of Canto as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Alves lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Alves stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Canto moves in looking to clinch but Alves pushes him off.
A decent looking cross lands there for Alves.
Alves fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Canto tries to close the distance and clinch but Alves swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Canto cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Canto wants to clinch up but Alves keeps it at a distance.
Alves throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Alves throws an overhand right that drops Canto like a sack of potatoes! Alves dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
