PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jacoby Lombard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hector Munez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lombard comes into the arena with Retaliator blaring out of the sound system. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Munez shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Munez wants to take a breather but Lombard is having none of it.
Lombard wants to get back to his feet.

Munez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Munez got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lombard has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Munez has managed to get both his arms back between Lombard's legs - danger averted.

Lombard escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Munez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lombard fails with the takedown

and Munez counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lombard's guard now.

Munez content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Lombard has locked up a guillotine! Lombard's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Munez is holding on here and Lombard must be using up a lot of energy. Munez has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Lombard gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
