Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ari Gold!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daikaura throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gold's waist but Gold gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Daikaura off to one side.
Daikaura will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gold throws a head kick that misses.
Daikaura fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eiki Daikaura. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Daikaura shoots in for a takedown but Gold shows good takedown defense.
Daikaura shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Gold as he jumps to the side.
Gold throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Daikaura tries to clinch but Gold is having none of it.
Daikaura rushes Gold and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Gold breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Gold has had enough of the clinch but Daikaura keeps him there for the moment.

Daikaura gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Gold regains guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Gold wants to sweep here but Daikaura controlling him for the moment.
Gold is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Daikaura wants to stand but Gold is controlling his posture from full guard.
Gold is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Gold manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Gold avoids the attempt from Daikaura to control.
Daikaura is trying desperately to improve position.
Gold wants to control the pace but Daikaura is squirming around nicely.
Daikaura is working to get back to half guard.
Gold connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Daikaura wants to control but Gold is keeping busy.
Gold is keen to just control but Daikaura is a slippery customer.
Gold is just content to waste time from the top position. Daikaura takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Daikaura has his foot on Gold's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Gold works his way back into a safe position though.
Daikaura is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Gold rolls with it to try and escape but Daikaura cranks on the arm and Gold is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
