The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Amon wants the takedown. Rupp is fighting it off but Amon persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Rupp's guard against the cage.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Rupp manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Amon manages to get himself to full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Amon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rupp. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rupp has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Amon throws out a loose jab but Rupp uses good head movement to avoid it.

Rupp has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Amon lands a leg kick that knocks Rupp off balance momentarily.

Rupp shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
