Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brice Bailey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marv Gannicus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Brice Bailey! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Marv Gannicus! The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gannicus moves into range and clinches up with Bailey. Bailey manages to pull guard.
Gannicus wants to get up but he can't break Bailey's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Bailey looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gannicus wants to stand but Bailey is controlling his posture from full guard. Gannicus must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Gannicus avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Bailey is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Gannicus really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bailey. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gannicus stands up and waves to Bailey to follow him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gannicus gets in close and instigates a clinch. Gannicus breaks from the clinch.
Gannicus pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gannicus lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Bailey at a distance.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bailey. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bailey is defended easily by Gannicus. That's two minutes gone in the round. A cross from Gannicus lands. Bailey shoots and misses and Gannicus counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Bailey shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Gannicus defends it nicely. Gannicus scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Gannicus fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bailey on the side of the head. Bailey dodges the punch combination from Gannicus.
Gannicus displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bailey.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bailey shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Gannicus sprawls well. Gannicus wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bailey gets slowly back to his feet. Bailey scores with a takedown into Gannicus's guard. Gannicus wants to stand but Bailey is controlling the position. Bailey drops back looking for a leg! Gannicus is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gannicus manages to kick Bailey off! Bailey jumps back into Gannicus's guard. Bailey prevents Gannicus from getting back to his feet. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Gannicus can do anything to dispel that myth.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bailey trying to control the position from guard on top but Gannicus is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Marv Gannicus will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Bailey throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Gannicus connects with a right hand. Bailey shakes it off. Bailey shoots in looking for a takedown but Gannicus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bailey's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Bailey changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gannicus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Bailey throws a strike aimed at the side of Gannicus's head but Gannicus avoids it well. Bailey is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gannicus has escaped the position, nice work there. Bailey happy to just control the position for now. Bailey has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Gannicus! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bailey is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gannicus can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
