PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Cawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gutti Eliassen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Brock Cawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gutti Eliassen!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cawk fails in his attempt to clinch.
Eliassen looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Cawk rushes Eliassen and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Cawk controlling the action here for a moment.
Eliassen tries to pull guard but Cawk won't allow it.
Cawk is trying to break free.
Eliassen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Eliassen drags the fight down to the ground.

Eliassen is working an open guard so Cawk takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Cawk closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Eliassen to the mat! Eliassen manages to get full guard.
Cawk controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Cawk stands and throws Eliassen's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Eliassen is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cawk tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Eliassen wants to control but Cawk postures up.
Cawk lands a nice forearm strike.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Cawk goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Eliassen rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Cawk's guard! Nice work there by Eliassen!
Cawk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Eliassen is controlling him.
Cawk lands an upkick as Eliassen stands over him.
Eliassen is fighting to break Cawk's control of his arms but Cawk is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Eliassen wants to stand but Cawk is controlling his posture from full guard.

Cawk wants to stand and escape but Eliassen is having none of it.

Cawk has his feet on Eliassen's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Cawk feints and as Eliassen raises his hands in defense, Cawk changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cawk gets to his feet. Eliassen looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Cawk is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Cawk wants to stand and escape but instead Eliassen has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Eliassen controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Eliassen wants to control from the top but Cawk keeps moving.
Cawk wants to sweep but no luck.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cawk manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Eliassen is wriggling around trying to escape.
Cawk lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Eliassen is squirming around, avoiding Cawk's attempts to control the action.
Eliassen wants to control but Cawk is having none of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Cawk has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Eliassen's face.
Cawk can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Eliassen is looking to escape.

Cawk stands up from mount. Strange move.

Cawk closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cawk lands in his opponent's guard.

Eliassen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Cawk seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Eliassen not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cawk wants to get up but he can't break Eliassen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Brock Cawk overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Cawk stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Eliassen swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Cawk shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Eliassen's guard.

Eliassen takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Eliassen has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Cawk feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Cawk seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Cawk is looking to pass Eliassen's guard but actually Eliassen recovers to full guard.
Cawk postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Eliassen is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Brock Cawk showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Cawk has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
