Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Max Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damon Pierce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Steel might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Saliva - Ladies and Gentlemen. Pierce is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Eve 6 - Inside Out. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Steel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damon Pierce!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steel looks to land a left hand but Pierce moved out of range nicely.
Steel is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.


It looks like Damon Pierce has been cut.
Steel throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Steel misses with a body kick.
Pierce looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Steel's corner calls for a 1-2. Steel obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Steel. No joy for Pierce on that attempt.
Steel throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Steel listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Pierce shoots in for a takedown but Steel shows good takedown defense.
Max Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damon Pierce.
Pierce has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pierce there as he acknowledges the shot.
Steel bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Pierce's head backwards.
Pierce fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Pierce fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Steel throws a jab but it's blocked by Pierce.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Steel enables Pierce to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Steel manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Steel trying to keep a closed guard but Pierce is proving a slippery customer.
Pierce advances to half guard.
Steel tries to roll over but Pierce keeps him under control.
Pierce trying to mount his opponent but Steel defends it.
Pierce stalling.
Pierce missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Steel is defending against the submission attempts here by Pierce.
Pierce working the head and body with strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Steel gets full guard.
Pierce trying to move into half guard but instead Steel has managed to sweep!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Steel tries to free his leg and advance position but Pierce is retaining full guard.

Pierce is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Pierce is looking to take a break and control but Steel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Pierce seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Pierce passes to full mount!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pierce trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Pierce throws a big shot that misses.
Pierce has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Pierce there as he acknowledges the shot.
Pierce shoots in but no luck this time.
Pierce takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Pierce doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Steel scores with a leg kick.

Pierce doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Steel counters with a slapping leg kick.
Pierce gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Steel scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Steel clobbers Pierce with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Steel misses with a hook.
Steel uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Pierce.

Steel delivers a nice body kick.
Pierce has his takedown stuffed
and Steel counters with a stiff right hand.
Max Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damon Pierce.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Steel scores with a three punch combo!
Steel lands a two punch combo.
Steel jabs Pierce to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Nice takedown defense from Steel. No joy for Pierce on that attempt.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Steel, right into the meat.

Steel scores with a jab. Pierce acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

and Steel makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Pierce is breathing heavily.

Sloppy strikes from Steel. Those never looked like landing.

Pierce throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Steel's waist but Steel gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pierce off to one side.
Pierce shoots and misses
and Steel makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Pierce doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Nice sprawl there from Steel as Pierce shoots in.
Steel lunges at Pierce with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Pierce's hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Steel fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Pierce.
Steel lands a two punch combo.
Steel misses with a body shot.
That kick from Steel tenderised Pierce's leg. Pierce is trying to keep his angry face on.
Steel lands a jab to the nose.
Pierce misses with a takedown attempt
and Steel counters with a stiff right hand.


That has opened up Damon Pierce's cut even more.
Steel goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Pierce shoots and misses
and Steel counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Pierce takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Steel keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Max Steel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Damon Pierce.
Steel jabs Pierce to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Steel cracks Pierce with a good jab.
Steel pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Pierce back to the cage. Steel follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Pierce has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Steel lands a nice looking body shot.
Steel misses with an attempted mid kick.

Steel throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Pierce on the wrong end of a nice jab.
That kick from Steel tenderised Pierce's leg. Pierce is trying to keep his angry face on.
Steel is looking to score with low kicks.
Pierce fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Steel scores with a shot to the body.
Max Steel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Steel lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Steel connects with a body shot.
Steel lands with a right hand.
No luck for Pierce with that takedown attempt.
Jab, jab by Steel - just one landing.


The cut above Damon Pierce's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Steel feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Pierce's calf.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pierce misses with a takedown
and Steel counters with an inside leg kick.
Pierce tries for a takedown but Steel circles away easily
letting Steel counter with a right hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pierce takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Steel throws a nice inside leg kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Steel fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A solid leg kick lands there for Steel.

And that's the end of the fight!
Max Steel showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Steel has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
