PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hank Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quincy Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Davidson's choice of entrance music: Ante Up - MOP. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Hank Hill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Quincy Davidson!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Davidson drives through and clinches with Hill against the cage.

Davidson has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Hill regains guard immediately.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hill seems keen to control Davidson's posture.
Hill wants to sweep here but Davidson controlling him for the moment.
Davidson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hill swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hill tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hill seems keen to control Davidson's posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Hank Hill.
Hill fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Good shot there by Hill.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Davidson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hill is fending him off so far but Davidson persists. Nope, Hill circles away and we're back to standing.
Davidson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Davidson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Davidson lands in his opponent's guard.
Hill wants to sweep here but Davidson controlling him for the moment.
Davidson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hill wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Davidson passes into half guard.
Hill slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Hill is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Davidson is fighting to break Hill's control of his arms but Hill is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Hill has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We're going to have a standup here because Hank Hill wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hill, right into the meat.
Hank Hill is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hill connects with a high kick.


It looks like Quincy Davidson has been cut.
Hill lands with a thumping leg kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Hill has Davidson pushed against the cage.
Hill lands a left hand that snaps the head of Davidson backwards.
Hill stalls.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
Davidson is trying to maintain a safe position but Hill gets an underhook and turns Davidson into the cage.
Hill wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Davidson has him pressed against the cage.

Hill breaks the clinch.
Hill lands the left hand.
Hill bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Davidson's head.
Hill fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Davidson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Hill dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Davidson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hill pinned against the cage. Hill gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Davidson tries for a takedown but Hill sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hank Hill has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quincy Davidson.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hill works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Davidson has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Davidson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hill as he avoids it easily.
Davidson looks gassed!
Hill fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
A thudding body kick lands there by Hill!
Hill feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Davidsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Hill scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Davidson takes a head kick and keeps coming.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Davidson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Hill.
Davidson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Davidson takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hank Hill dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Quincy Davidson's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Hill stalks Davidson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Davidson's face. Davidson staggers backwards, shaken.
Davidson moves in looking to clinch but Hill pushes him off.
Davidson misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Hill cracks Davidson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Hill lands with a nice body punch.
Davidson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Hill paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Hill connects with an inside leg kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hill throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Davidson is breathing heavily.
An inside leg kick lands from Hill.
Davidson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hill lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hill feints and then cracks Davidson's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Davidson down.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hill scores with the left hand. Davidson knows he should have avoided that one.
Hill fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Davidson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Hill lands a leg kick that knocks Davidson off balance momentarily.
Davidson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nice shot lands for Hill.

Hill lands a left and a right that send Davidson crashing to the mat, dazed. Hill thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Davidson is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hill moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Davidson is still on wobbly legs! Can Hill finish him?
Davidson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hill can pounce on him.
Hill throws a head kick that Davidson semi-blocks.
Hill is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Davidson can do to turn this around?
Hill lands a big head kick that sends Davidson to the canvas! Hill follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hank Hill!
