PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jerald Jenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Roch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roch has chosen The Furor - ACDC as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jerald Jenson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Roch!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Ian Loll and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jenson gets the takedown into side control.
Jenson tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Jenson in side control, throwing shots but Roch defends.

Jenson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Jenson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Jenson takes a little break here. Roch wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Roch tries to buck Jenson off but Jenson is having none of it.

Jenson has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Roch shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jenson as he jumps to the side.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Roch tries to pull guard but Jenson holds him up against the cage and eventually Roch drops back down to his feet.
Jenson stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Roch trying to move into half guard but instead Jenson has managed to sweep!

Jenson is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Roch manages to get to full guard.

Roch wants to stand but Jenson is controlling the position.
Jenson cracks Roch with a solid left hand.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Jenson wants to pass the guard but Roch is keeping the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jerald Jenson.

Jenson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Roch's guard.

Jenson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Roch.

Jenson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Jerald Jenson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Roch has given up his back here.
Jenson is looking to control Roch but Roch is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Jenson lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Jenson has the hooks in. Roch is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Roch is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Jenson connects with a big shot to the side of Roch's head.
Jenson scores with punches to the body.
Jenson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Roch's body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jenson lands a shot to the body.
Roch trying to control the hands but Jenson breaks the grip.

Jenson is persistently looking for the submission but Roch is defending it well.

Jenson is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

Roch manages to reverse the position and now he's in Jenson's guard. Nice work there by Roch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerald Jenson dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Jenson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Roch looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Roch.
Jenson is looking to clinch but Roch is avoiding it.

Roch gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jenson wants to pass the guard but Roch is keeping the position.
Jenson wants to control from the top but Roch keeps moving.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Roch is on top in guard.

Jenson pushes Roch off and scrambles back to his feet.
Roch misses with a takedown attempt - Jenson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Jenson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Roch's guard.
Jerald Jenson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nick Roch.
Roch takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jenson's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jenson shoots in and bounces Roch off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jenson wants to stand but Roch is controlling his posture from full guard.
Roch is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Roch is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Roch can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jenson controls the pace.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Jenson has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
