PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frank Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Dettman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dettman has chosen Led Zeppelin - When the Levee Breaks as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Parker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bobby Dettman!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Parker shoots for a double leg takedown but Dettman sprawls well. He's pushed Parker's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dettman throws a nice outside leg kick.
Dettman scores with a nice head shot.
Parker's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Dettman connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Parker scrambles back to his feet.
Parker moves out of range of the body kick.
Some wild striking there from Dettman.

Parker closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Parker lands in his opponent's guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Dettman managing to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Parker throws a big right hand that misses.
Dettman not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Bobby Dettman.
Parker tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Dettman moves in looking to clinch but Parker pushes him off.
Dettman defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Parker.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Parker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Parker takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Parker checks the leg kick.
Dettman takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Dettman keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Donk. Dettman catches Parker right on the button with a cross.
Dettman misses with a two punch combination.
Dettman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Parker.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dettman throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.

Parker closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dettman did well to prevent Parker getting side control.
Dettman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Parker is working away from the top position though.
Parker thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dettman's head.
Parker prevents Dettman from improving his position.
Parker is trying to control the action in half guard but Dettman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Dettman is holding on to half guard well.
Parker throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dettman wants to get back to his feet.
Still in half guard, Parker seems content to control.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dettman scores with a nice strike.
Parker fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dettman pushes Parker away with a front kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Parker. Dettman does a little dance to reset his feet.

Parker darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Dettman regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Parker is fighting to break Dettman's control of his arms but Dettman is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Parker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dettman works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Dettman utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Parker in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Parker trying to control the position from guard on top but Dettman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Bobby Dettman will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Dettman stuffs the takedown attempt from Parker. Parker gets slowly back to his feet.
Dettman throws a series of strikes that have Parker backpedaling.


It looks like Frank Parker has been cut.
Parker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Dettman pinned against the cage. Dettman gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Dettman defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Parker.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Parker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Parker will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Frank Parker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Parker fails with a takedown attempt.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Dettman.
A chopping leg kick lands by Dettman.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Parker circles away from the clinch attempt.
Parker with a poor takedown
and Dettman makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Parker really felt that one!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Parker takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Dettman scores with a leg kick.
Dettman feints and then cracks Parker's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Parker down.
Dettman scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Dettman throws a wild body kick that Parker sees coming a mile off.
Dettman lands an overhand right.


Parker is rocked!
Dettman lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dettman drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Parker right on the button. Parker goes down! Dettman follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Dettman gets the win via TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bobby Dettman!
An out of breath Bobby Dettman thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
