Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between dirk rizo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cameron Reed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cameron Reed is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, dirk rizo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cameron Reed!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

rizo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Reed looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
rizo seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

rizo has Reed up against the cage in a clinch.

rizo jumps into guard, dragging Reed to the mat.
rizo has his hands on Reed's head, controlling the position.
Reed trying to control the position from guard on top but rizo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

rizo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

rizo throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
rizo wants to stand up but Reed is controlling him.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

rizo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Reed is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Reed and rizo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Reed is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

rizo wants to control but Reed is keeping him busy.

Reed tries for a takedown but rizo circles away easily

and rizo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Reed's guard now.
Reed is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst rizo is controlling him.
Reed keeping moving, preventing rizo from controlling successfully.

rizo stands up from Reed's guard - rizo perhaps looking for a knockout.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
rizo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Reed is one step ahead there.

rizo is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as rizo holds on and takes a little breather.
rizo is trying to keep Reed in close.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

rizo closes the distance and clinches.

rizo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

rizo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

rizo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
rizo can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Reed is looking to escape.

rizo postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Reed looks a forlorn figure.
rizo scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Reed?
Reed has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of rizo's lack of action.
Reed wants to get back to full guard.
rizo trying to control the action but Reed is working from the bottom.

rizo is just content to waste time from the top position. Reed takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

rizo is looking to work some ground and pound but Reed has wrist control.
rizo could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

rizo lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Reed drops to a knee looking for a takedown but rizo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
rizo keeps control of Reed as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

rizo lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Reed!

It looks like Cameron Reed has been cut.
dirk rizo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
rizo working away from the top, dropping strikes.

rizo looking to secure an arm triangle but Reed defends it well.
rizo looking to control but Reed is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, rizo cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

rizo lands a big shot there that rocks Reed but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Reed is still on wobbly legs! Can rizo finish him?


That has opened up Cameron Reed's cut even more.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A nice elbow there by rizo.

Reed is wriggling around trying to escape.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


rizo dances in with a quick combination. Reed is being worked over with jabs and crosses. Oooh, a right straight from rizo snaps Reed's head back. Reed stumbles backwards against the cage. rizo steps forward and delivers a right cross that connects with Reed's jaw, simultaneously knocking him out and sending his mouthpiece into the crowd! There's a worthy souvenir for the fans. This one is over folks. Reed just didn't come prepared.
