PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Kazis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stand King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marcus Kazis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Stand King!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King avoids the head kick by Kazis.

King shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
King is in close to Kazis's body, working some short punches and elbows.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as King accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
King scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
King with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
King scoring with some ground and pound.
King has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kazis is proving hard to escape from.
King really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kazis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells King's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

King stands up from guard. Let's bang!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kazis shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts King as he jumps to the side.
Stand King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

King throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kazis was covering up waiting for the punch and King finishes the takedown easily into guard.
King throwing strikes from guard but Kazis blocks nicely.
Kazis looking to hit a scissor sweep but King is one step ahead there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kazis has a closed guard, preventing King from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kazis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
King missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
King lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Kazis trying to strike off his back.

Kazis looking for a guillotine here but King defends easily.
Kazis throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
King cracks Kazis with a solid left hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kazis looking to control.
Kazis tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Kazis is looking to sinch up a triangle. King throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Kazis's body to avoid the submission. Kazis has instead reached around King's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Kazis arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Marcus Kazis!
