The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alen shoots in and bounces Jassikka off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jassikka controls Alen momentarily but Alen frees himself.

Alen jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Jassikka manages to avoid the submission attempt.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Hala Alen just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Alen changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jassikka looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Alen is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Jassikka's shoulder. That is not cool.
Jassikka is trying to control Alen's posture but Alen avoids it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jassikka is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Alen seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jassikka for as long as he can get away with.

and Alen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Alen has hold of Jassikka's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Jassikka seems comfortable defending it but Alen has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Jassikka is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Jassikka is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Alen couldn't care less - he's delighted!
