Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shananigan Lurendrejer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Drasek Riven!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lurendrejer misses with a body shot.
Lurendrejer turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Shananigan Lurendrejer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lurendrejer shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Riven is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Drasek Riven hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Lurendrejer throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Riven works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lurendrejer keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Riven's head.

Lurendrejer is looking to work some ground and pound but Riven has wrist control.

Riven lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lurendrejer!

Riven is working for a guillotine from mount but Lurendrejer frees his head quite easily.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Riven swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Lurendrejer is now in Riven's guard. A big mistake from Riven there, giving up the dominant position!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lurendrejer avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Lurendrejer thumps Riven with a low kick.
Lurendrejer throws a low kick, looking for Riven's leg but Riven calmly moves out of range.

Riven lands a nice hook to Lurendrejer's body. Lurendrejer takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Riven tries to close the distance and clinch but Lurendrejer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A decent looking cross lands there for Lurendrejer.
Riven is looking to clinch but Lurendrejer is avoiding it.

Lurendrejer throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Riven.

Riven darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Riven is trying to control. Lurendrejer wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Riven is pressing down on Lurendrejer's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lurendrejer is holding on for now.
Lurendrejer is looking for a sweep. Riven is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Riven is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lurendrejer is just riding it out for now. Riven eventually gives up the hold.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Riven wants to control but Lurendrejer is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lurendrejer wants to sweep but no luck.

Riven drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Riven jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lurendrejer is trying to control the position but Riven postures up.

Riven is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Lurendrejer pulls Riven in close to prevent any damage.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Shananigan Lurendrejer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
That kick from Riven tenderised Lurendrejer's leg. Lurendrejer is trying to keep his angry face on.

Riven moves out of range of the leg kick from Lurendrejer.
Riven shoots in looking for a takedown but Lurendrejer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Riven's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Lurendrejer thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Riven if he has to take too many more of those.
Riven stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Riven misses with a series of wild punches.
Lurendrejer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Riven shoots in for a takedown but Lurendrejer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lurendrejer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lurendrejer uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Riven.

Lurendrejer thows a body shot but no joy.
Lurendrejer will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Riven wants to clinch.
Lurendrejer lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Lurendrejer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Lurendrejer tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Riven is able to avoid easily.
Lurendrejer throws a low kick, looking for Riven's leg but Riven calmly moves out of range.
Riven attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Riven looks to land a combination. Lurendrejer sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Lurendrejer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Riven is fending him off so far but Lurendrejer persists. Nope, Riven circles away and we're back to standing.
Lurendrejer looks to land a right hand but Riven moved out of range.
Riven misses with a two punch combination.
Riven closes the distance and clinches up with Lurendrejer, looking for a takedown. Riven pushes Lurendrejer against the cage but Lurendrejer circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Shananigan Lurendrejer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Drasek Riven.

Lurendrejer throws a strike but Riven rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Riven drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lurendrejer looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lurendrejer looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lurendrejer!
