PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shio Sakaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and GameBred Mma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mma has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sakaki shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Sakaki looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mma can do anything to dispel that myth.

Sakaki throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Mma was covering up waiting for the punch and Sakaki finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Sakaki throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Mma escapes and throws Sakaki's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Mma stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Mma has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Sakaki's lack of action.

Sakaki shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Mma is trying to defend but Sakaki finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mma wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Mma in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Sakaki jumps guard and drags Mma to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sakaki wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Mma is now in half guard.

Mma postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Sakaki to stand up.

Sakaki closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Mma did well to prevent Sakaki getting side control.

Sakaki is looking for a kimura but Mma is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Sakaki to get the leverage.

Well Sakaki has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
