Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Leonardo Ballestero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Balance (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Balance is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jack Balance!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balance looks to score with a jab to the body but Ballestero is just out of range.
Ballestero shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Balance decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ballestero's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Ballestero is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Balance controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Ballestero wants to stand up but Balance is controlling him.
Balance throwing strikes from guard but Ballestero blocks nicely.

Balance avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ballestero thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Balance is trying to work for a kimura but Ballestero is defending well.

Ballestero tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Balance paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Ballestero lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ballestero.
