PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Maciejewski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Rafferty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maciejewski kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is The Strokes - Hard To Explain. Rafferty has chosen Enter Shikari - Sorry You're Not A Winner as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Aaron Rafferty!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, James Glass and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Maciejewski.
Maciejewski is chipping away with strikes.
Maciejewski is putting a hurting on Rafferty here, landing some big shots from side control.
Maciejewski takes a little break here. Rafferty wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Maciejewski has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rafferty seems a little lost for a moment, as Maciejewski dominates the positioning.
Maciejewski tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Maciejewski's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Maciejewski cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Maciejewski takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Kyle Maciejewski just wasn't active enough.

Maciejewski shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rafferty napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Maciejewski remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Rafferty closes the distance and clinches up with Maciejewski, looking for a takedown. Rafferty pushes Maciejewski against the cage but Maciejewski circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Maciejewski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Maciejewski is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Rafferty fails with a takedown attempt.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rafferty enables Maciejewski to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rafferty manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Maciejewski shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rafferty manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Rafferty takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Rafferty is in a horrible position here. Maciejewski smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Maciejewski postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Rafferty badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Maciejewski around the waist but Maciejewski pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Maciejewski is the winner by TKO! Maciejewski jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kyle Maciejewski!
As Kyle Maciejewski got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I'm delighted to finally get my first MMA and especially with this org. I hope to do big things in this sport. Thank you everyone!'.
