Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeff Morel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kira Takashi!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck with that takedown attempt from Morel.
Morel misses with a leg kick
and Takashi counters with a slapping leg kick.
Morel lands a jab-cross combination.

Takashi has managed to clinch.
Morel throws an elbow that misses.
Morel looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Morel has Takashi pressed against the cage, preventing Takashi from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Morel tries to pull guard but Takashi won't allow it.
Takashi can't break the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Takashi manages to pull guard.
Morel prevents Takashi from getting back to his feet.

Takashi manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Morel misses with a low kick.
Morel shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Takashi pinned against the cage. Takashi gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeff Morel. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Takashi gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Takashi has Morel pressed against the cage, preventing Morel from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Takashi takes a shot to the head.
A shot in the inside from Morel.
A nice left hand lands by Morel.
Takashi's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Morel wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Morel tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Takashi wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morel lands a nice uppercut.
Takashi landing knees to the body.
Takashi swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Morel is trying to pull guard but Takashi has him pressed against the cage.
Morel has Takashi pressed against the cage, preventing Takashi from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Still in the clinch, Morel scores with a nice short uppercut.
Takashi trying to land knees to the body.

Takashi pulls Morel into guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Morel trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Morel postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Morel stopping the sweep attempt from Takashi.
Takashi utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Takashi wants to stand but Morel is controlling the position.
Takashi looks gassed!
Morel stands up over Takashi, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Morel tries to stand but Takashi is controlling from the bottom.
Takashi has momentary wrist control but Morel slips an elbow through the middle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Morel working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Takashi's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff Morel dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Takashi throws a head kick but Morel moves out of range.
Morel closes this distance looking for a takedown but Takashi circles away.
Takashi on the wrong end of a nice jab.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Morel enables Takashi to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Morel manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Morel manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Morel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Takashi is in a horrible position here. Morel smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Takashi defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Morel.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Takashi is bucking up trying to escape but Morel cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Takashi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Morel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Takashi is breathing heavily.

Morel is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Takashi to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Takashi shrugs it off.
Takashi wants to get back to his feet.
Takashi wants to control but Morel is having none of it.
Morel in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Morel quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Morel but it's paid off an Takashi is forced to tap! Nice work by Morel.
