The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Oliveira connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Ward scrambles back to his feet.

It looks like Donte Ward has been cut.
Oliveira wants to slow Ward down by chopping away at his legs.
Oliveira displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ward.
Oliveira scores with a hook.
No luck for Ward with that takedown attempt.
Oliveira lunges at Ward with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ward's hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Oliveira stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

That has opened up Donte Ward's cut even more.
Ward thows a leg kick but Oliveira checks it
and Oliveira counters with a right hand to the body.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Oliveira engages and cracks Ward with a massive lead left hook - Ward tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Oliveira is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
