And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alex De Jong!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas keeps the fight on the outside.
Thomas falls off balance throwing a combination
and De Jong counters with a nice low kick that buckles Thomas's knee momentarily.
De Jong moves in looking to clinch but Thomas pushes him off.
Thomas circles away from the clinch attempt

and Thomas counters with a single leg into guard. De Jong didn't expect that.
Thomas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Thomas looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Thomas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Thomas trying to control but De Jong is working from the bottom.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Thomas is really struggling to control De Jong but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Mark Thomas just wasn't active enough.
Thomas misses with a series of wild punches.

and Thomas counters with a one-two to the body.

It looks like Alex De Jong has been cut.
De Jong tries to clinch there but Thomas circles away.
De Jong scores with a head kick.


It looks like Mark Thomas has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
De Jong wants to clinch but Thomas slips to the side

and Thomas counters with a shoot takedown. De Jong fights it but they end up in guard.
Thomas looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Thomas is looking to work some ground and pound but De Jong has wrist control.
Thomas postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Thomas thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Thomas is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Thomas throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Thomas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Thomas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Thomas drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Thomas as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! De Jong screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Thomas! Nice submission victory there!
