Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black slaps away a takedown attempt from Sardinha, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sardinha should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Black tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Sardinha manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Sardinha drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sardinha jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That was a close second round but I would say that James Black will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
The fighters circle momentarily. Black darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Sardinha shoots for a double leg takedown but Black sprawls well. He's pushed Sardinha's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Black comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Sardinha tries to score a power double leg takedown but Black sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sardinha somewhat.

Sardinha postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Black is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sardinha, into his guard.

Sardinha working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Black doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Black manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sardinha has his foot on Black's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Black works his way back into a safe position though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to James Black.
