Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Larry Hayes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Orlando Sackett!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes wants to clinch up but Sackett keeps it at a distance.

Sackett closes the distance and clinches.

Hayes looks to score with a jab to the body but Sackett is just out of range.
Hayes misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
No luck for Hayes with that takedown attempt.
Hayes walks forward, straight into a front kick from Sackett.
Sackett stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Larry Hayes. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hayes stalks Sackett and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sackett's face. Sackett staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Orlando Sackett has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sackett changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hayes tries to avoid it but Sackett manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hayes to the ground. Hayes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Sackett slaps away a takedown attempt from Hayes, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Hayes is breathing heavily.
Hayes tries to clinch up but Sackett circles away and keeps his distance.
Larry Hayes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hayes misses with a jab, cross combination.

Hayes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sackett.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hayes.
Hayes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sackett sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hayes somewhat.

Sackett drives through with a takedown into Hayes's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Hayes has his foot on Sackett's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sackett works his way back into a safe position though.

Sackett looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hayes!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hayes is bucking up trying to escape but Sackett cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hayes tries to reverse the position but Sackett maintains control.
Oh Hayes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Sackett looking to finish here with some ground and pound. He lands one big shot that has Hayes covering up... and two more big strikes land, forcing the referee to step in and put and end to proceedings! This fight is all over!
