Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keast Gaard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Athan Stamatis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gaard comes to the cage accompanied by Otto Brandenburg - Når en Sailor Går i Land. Stamatis has chosen Lose Yourself as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stamatis misses with a head kick.

Stamatis is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Stamatis tries to score a power double leg takedown but Gaard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Stamatis somewhat.
Stamatis misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gaard lands a nice shot to the body.
Stamatis throws the kick towards the body but Gaard avoids it.
Gaard takes a swing at Stamatis's ribcage but misses.
Athan Stamatis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gaard will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Gaard is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stamatis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Gaard gets caught napping as Stamatis dives in and scores a takedown. Gaard manages to retain guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Stamatis stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gaard swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stamatis keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gaard's head.
Gaard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Stamatis on the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stamatis stops Gaard from standing up.
Gaard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Stamatis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Stamatis stands up over Gaard, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Stamatis loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Gaard scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Stamatis land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Stamatis stands and salutes the crowd.

Athan Stamatis really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that $10 logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
