The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leocadio tries a head kick but it misses.

Jones shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Leocadio as he avoids it easily.
Leocadio cracks Jones with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Jones pushes Leocadio away with a front kick.

BOOM! Jones connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Jones jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Leocadio manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones throws a strike aimed at the side of Leocadio's head but Leocadio avoids it well.

Jones stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Jones looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Leocadio lands with a right hand.

Jones tries to clinch up.
Curt Leocadio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Leocadio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Leocadio throws the left hand but Jones avoids the punch easily.
Leocadio slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jon Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Leocadio lands with a right hand.
Jones thuds his shin into the meat of Leocadio's side.

Leocadio throws a head kick but Jones moves out of range.
Jones shoots for a double leg takedown but Leocadio sprawls well. He's pushed Jones's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Leocadio.

Jones closes the distance and pushes Leocadio back into the cage.
Jones has Leocadio pressed against the cage.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Jones obliges.

Jones is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Jones is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Leocadio to keep the fight standing.
Jones tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Leocadio is looking to break free of the clinch but Jones has double underhooks.
Jones lands an elbow inside that Leocadio shrugs off.
Leocadio wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Jones escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Leocadio lands a right hook to the body.
Jones moves in looking to clinch but Leocadio pushes him off.
Jones closes the distance but Leocadio moves to the side
and Leocadio counters with a left and a right that stings Jones.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Leocadio tries a head kick but it misses.

Jones lands a big head kick that sends Leocadio tumbling to the mat! Jones takes a step backwards and waves Leocadio back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Leocadio is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
