The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
John throws a low kick but Kerr moves out of range easily.
John thows a left - swing and a miss!
A head kick from Kerr lands but John takes it in his stride.
Kerr connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
John shoots for a takedown but Kerr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Kerr regains half guard.
Kerr is in trouble now - John has advanced to mount!
BOOM! John connects with a massive shot to the dome!
This has been an exciting period of action!
John prevents Kerr from getting the reversal.
John throwing strikes here but Kerr is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Kerr on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Kerr tries to get out of the position.
John with shots to the head and body - Kerr looks very uncomfortable down there.
Kerr is squirming around, avoiding John's attempts to control the action.
Kerr keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kerr tries to lock up and control but John gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
John has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
