Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Phil Carpio!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jim Morrison!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morrison misses with a body shot.
Morrison has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Morrison there as he acknowledges the shot.
Morrison throws a lazy body kick
and Carpio counters with a nice body shot.
Carpio takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Morrison scores with a jab to the head.

Morrison shoots in and bounces Carpio off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Morrison loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Carpio keeping moving, preventing Morrison from controlling successfully.
Morrison is fighting to break Carpio's control of his arms but Carpio is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Carpio kicks Morrison off and gets to his feet.
Morrison looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Carpio thows a leg kick but Morrison checks it

and Morrison holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Morrison working hard to break the clinch.

Morrison breaks from the clinch.
Carpio has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Morrison finds it's way round the side to connect with Carpio's head.
Nice uppercut lands for Carpio. That snapped Morrison's head back.
Carpio throws a right hand that misses

and Morrison decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Carpio's guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Morrison lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Carpio is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Morrison postures up in Carpio's guard and throws a big left but Carpio blocks it.
Morrison trying to control but Carpio is working from the bottom.
Morrison might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Carpio kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Morrison trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Morrison gets to his feet. Carpio looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morrison on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Carpio takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Carpio pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Morrison is looking to clinch but Carpio is avoiding it.
Carpio throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Morrison tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Carpio finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Morrison closes the distance and clinches.

Morrison pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Carpio gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Morrison has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Morrison throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carpio works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Morrison is looking to work some ground and pound but Carpio has wrist control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Morrison is pushing down on Carpio's leg trying to pass to half guard. Carpio is fighting to maintain full guard but Morrison has managed to sneak the leg through.

Carpio makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Carpio throws a jab when Morrison was well out of range.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Carpio works Morrison's body with a nice hook.
Morrison staying out of range there.

Carpio gets caught flat footed, as Morrison shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Morrison dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Morrison misses with a head kick.
Morrison blocks a jab.
Morrison thuds a left hand into Carpio's body.
Morrison misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Morrison swinging wildly here.
Morrison fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Morrison uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Carpio.
Morrison misses with a head kick.
Donk. Carpio catches Morrison right on the button with a cross.
Jim Morrison is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Carpio slaps away a takedown attempt from Morrison, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Morrison wants to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carpio scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Morrison rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Carpio moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Carpio bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Morrison tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carpio sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Morrison somewhat.
Phil Carpio has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Morrison.
Morrison dives in and grabs Carpio's left leg, looking for a takedown. Carpio pushes down on Morrison's head and hops out.
Carpio shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carpio misses with a body shot.
Morrison looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Morrison misses with a hook
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Morrison fails in his attempt to clinch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Morrison. Carpio does a little dance to reset his feet.
Morrison throws a right and a left that both miss.
Carpio misses with a head kick.

Morrison forces Carpio back against the cage and clinches.

Carpio pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Carpio misses with a looping right.
Morrison tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Carpio manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Morrison misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Morrison closes this distance looking for a takedown but Carpio circles away.
Phil Carpio is winning the standup battle so far.
Morrison has a takedown stuffed.
Morrison gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Carpio counters with a one-two to the body.
Morrison is breathing heavily.
Morrison pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Carpio swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Morrison closes the distance but Carpio moves to the side

and Carpio counters with a head kick that drops Morrison to the mat! Morrison scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!


Morrison is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Carpio weaves into range and cracks Morrison right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Morrison goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Carpio is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Phil Carpio!
Our winner, Phil Carpio, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
