Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Champ Bombada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Janssen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Janssen has chosen DJ Madman - Meisje zo lelijk als de nacht as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jan Janssen!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bombada throws a shot from downtown. Janssen moves away and avoids it.
Bombada misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Bombada throws a jab when Janssen was well out of range.
Janssen doesn't manage to clinch there - Bombada circles away.
Janssen loads up on a big right hand but Bombada slips the punch.
Janssen dives in and grabs Bombada's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bombada pushes down on Janssen's head and hops out.

Janssen throws a big shot that misses.
Janssen's corner calls for a 1-2. Janssen obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Bombada moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Janssen walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Janssen throws a hook to the side of Bombada's head but Bombada sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bombada scores with a sloppy right hand. Janssen should have avoided that one.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bombada throws a nice looking combination but Janssen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bombada wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Janssen has him pressed against the cage.
Janssen manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Janssen tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Janssen's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Champ Bombada is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Janssen cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bombada throws out a loose jab but Janssen uses good head movement to avoid it.
Janssen throws the left hand but Bombada avoids the punch easily.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A swing and a miss from Janssen.
Janssen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bombada manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Janssen keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Janssen clobbers Bombada with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Bombada swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Janssen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Bombada!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Janssen won't let Bombada get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Janssen jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bombada manages to avoid the submission attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Bombada manages to work his way to half guard, despite Janssen's best efforts.

Janssen is working for a kimura but Bombada is defending it quite comfortably.

Janssen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bombada defends it well.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bombada is staying active underneath Janssen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Janssen lands a nice short elbow.

Janssen is landing with some decent strikes but Bombada is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Bombada knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Janssen on the ground.
Janssen pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Janssen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Janssen counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bombada won't be happy with that.

Janssen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bombada has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Janssen but great work by Bombada.

Jan Janssen is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bombada trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Janssen is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

We're going to have a standup here because Champ Bombada wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Janssen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bombada on his heels. He'll look to pass Bombada's guard now, I'm sure.

Well Janssen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
