The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wellman Junior tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Butcher paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wellman Junior checks a low kick from Butcher.

Wellman Junior keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

It looks like Wally Butcher has been cut.
Butcher throws a chopping leg kick but Wellman Junior manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Wellman Junior is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Butcher is just riding it out for now. Wellman Junior eventually gives up the hold.

That was a close round but I would say that Shane Wellman Junior will probably get the nod.

A looping hook to the body misses from Butcher. Wellman Junior does a little dance to reset his feet.
Butcher shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Wellman Junior eats them both and turns towards Butcher to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Wellman Junior throws a hook but Butcher avoids it easily.
Butcher is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Butcher. Wellman Junior shrugs it off though.

Butcher throws a right hand that Wellman Junior ducks under and follows up with a left that Wellman Junior also avoids with ease.
Oh Wellman Junior is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Butcher lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Wellman Junior crumples to the floor! Butcher milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
