The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evan gets caught napping as Galard dives in and scores a takedown. Evan manages to retain guard.
Galard seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Galard pushes down on Evan's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evan is looking to escape.
Galard throwing shots but Evan is blocking nicely.
Galard takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Galard stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Galard throws a big elbow that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Galard connects with a couple of short punches.
Galard stays in close to Evan's body and controls the position.
Galard passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Galard takes a little break here. Evan wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Galard is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Evan has escaped the position, nice work there.
Galard has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Evan!
Evan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Galard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Galard quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Galard but it's paid off an Evan is forced to tap! Nice work by Galard.
