PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kimbo Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hogan comes into the arena with The real American blaring out of the sound system. The crowd seem to be enjoying Junior's choice of entrance music: can't be touched. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Kimbo Junior enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hulk Hogan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kimbo Junior!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Junior shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Hogan throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Junior was covering up waiting for the punch and Hogan finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Junior looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Hogan sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Hogan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Junior swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Junior has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Hogan is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Junior.

Hogan is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Junior will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Junior manages to get back to half guard.
Hogan working over Junior with some ground and pound. Junior looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Hogan seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Junior for as long as he can get away with.

Hogan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Junior knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Hulk Hogan wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Junior fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hulk Hogan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kimbo Junior.

and Hogan counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Junior!
Junior is looking to improve his position but Hogan isn't that keen on the idea.

Hogan's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Junior is looking for a triangle here but Hogan uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Hogan has an Americana. Junior didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Hogan is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Hogan hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
