PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Amigo Cerveza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gregory Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cerveza comes to the cage accompanied by Demarco ft Konshens - Paper chasing . Gregory Silva told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Amigo Cerveza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gregory Silva!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cerveza looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cerveza is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Silva defends well.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Amigo Cerveza.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cerveza connects with a nice short shot to Silva's temple.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close second round but I would say that Amigo Cerveza will probably get the nod.

Cerveza has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Silva is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Cerveza.

Cerveza drops back, looking for a kneebar! Silva looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Silva looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Silva!
