Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcos Paulo Dias!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jay Lukas!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lukas looks for a takedown but Dias sprawls well.

Lukas looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Lukas stalling away here and it's allowed Dias to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Lukas trying to control but Dias is working from the bottom.
Lukas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Lukas is looking to advance position but Dias has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Dias is trying to control the action in half guard but Lukas is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Lukas has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dias is working away from the top position though.
Lukas is looking to improve his position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Dias is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lukas defends it well.
Lukas wants to get back to full guard.
Lukas is trying to maintain the position but Dias is very close to passing his half guard.

Dias is looking for a kimura but Lukas is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Dias to get the leverage.
Lukas is concentrating on defense, preventing Dias from advancing position.
Lukas tries to kick Dias off but Dias keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Dias is working for a kimura but Lukas is defending it quite comfortably.

Lukas is refusing to be controlled, as Dias sits in half guard.
Lukas is looking to control Dias's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lukas avoid being mounted?

Lukas is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dias is aware though and is defending well.

Dias dives in and scores a takedown into Lukas's guard.

Lukas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dias doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dias manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Dias looking to sit in guard and control but Lukas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Lukas wants to control from the top but Dias keeps moving.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lukas with a flurry of punches that miss.
Lukas throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dias works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Dias lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Lukas!

Lukas sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

Dias looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lukas regains full guard. Nicely done.
Dias won't allow Lukas to get back to his feet.

Lukas is looking for a triangle but Dias pushes his legs off easily.

Dias stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Lukas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dias manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Lukas stuffs the takedown.

Lukas clinches.
Lukas scores with a hook to the body.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Lukas.
Lukas with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Lukas has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Dias clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Dias staying busy and making it hard for Lukas to control.

Lukas seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Dias's chin but Dias turns very nicely into Lukas's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Dias.
Dias stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lukas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lukas controls Dias momentarily but Dias frees himself.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Jay Lukas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Sloppy strikes from Lukas. Those never looked like landing.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Lukas connects with a couple of short punches.

Lukas drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dias dives on top into guard.

Dias working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Dias stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lukas swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lukas controls Dias momentarily but Dias frees himself.

Dias seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Lukas trying to control from the bottom.
Lukas manages to get to full guard.
Dias in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Dias slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Dias looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Dias is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lukas is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dias tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Lukas struggling a bit here.

Lukas is looking to reverse the position.
Marcos Paulo Dias has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jay Lukas is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
You can see the frustration on Lukas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

I would just about give that final round to Jay Lukas.
Well Lukas has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
