Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sam Benton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Villi Kotobalavu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Benton kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Kung Fu Fighting. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Kotobalavu, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Benton misses with a kick to the body.
Kotobalavu feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Benton's calf.
Benton doesn't manage to clinch there - Kotobalavu circles away.
Benton takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Kotobalavu throws a sloppy head kick and Benton moves out of range easily.
Benton throws the kick towards the body but Kotobalavu avoids it.
Kotobalavu looks for the body kick but Benton saw that one coming.

Benton is trying hard to land a takedown here. Kotobalavu sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Benton bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Benton closes the distance and clinches up with Kotobalavu, looking for a takedown. Benton pushes Kotobalavu against the cage but Kotobalavu circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Benton gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kotobalavu to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Kotobalavu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Benton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kotobalavu has managed to get both his arms back between Benton's legs - danger averted.

Benton is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Kotobalavu frees his head nicely. Oh but Benton has switched to an armbar! Kotobalavu is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
