Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ampeto Bonega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Mahone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joe Mahone!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bonega fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Mahone avoids it really well and circles away.

Mahone drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Mahone tries to advance to mount but can't.
Mahone trying to control the action but Bonega is working from the bottom.
Bonega is looking for a sweep.

Bonega is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mahone pulls his head out easily.

Mahone stands up and beckons Bonega to join him on the feet.

Bonega throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mahone tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bonega is in Mahone's guard.
Bonega is breathing heavily.
Bonega connects with a couple of short punches.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Mahone has control of Bonega's left arm, preventing Bonega from doing any damage.
Bonega wants to pass the guard but Mahone is keeping the position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mahone has Bonega pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Joe Mahone hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Bonega scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Mahone is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Mahone has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bonega can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bonega postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Mahone is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bonega, into his guard.

Bonega looking for subs off his back but Mahone has passed one foot through into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bonega wants to get back to full guard but Mahone has passed into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bonega shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Mahone counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mahone.
Bonega really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bonega wants to sweep here but Mahone controlling him for the moment.

Mahone is trying to control. Bonega wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Mahone shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Bonega napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Mahone has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Mahone throws a wild body kick that Bonega sees coming a mile off.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Joe Mahone showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Mahone enables Bonega to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Mahone manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
