The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as Verrus checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
A solid leg kick lands there for Winkle.
Verrus loads up on a big right hand but Winkle slips the punch.
Winkle throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Winkle connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Winkle thows a left - swing and a miss!

Winkle postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Verrus is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Winkle, into his guard.

Winkle looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Winkle is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Verrus has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Verrus!

Verrus looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Verrus throws a hook but Winkle blocks it.
Winkle cracks Verrus with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Winkle throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Verrus stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Verrus looks to land a right hand but Winkle moved out of range.

Winkle misses with an uppercut. Verrus saw that one coming.

and Verrus counters with a nice uppercut.
Verrus connects with a crisp jab.
Winkle avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Verrus is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Winkle stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Winkle walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Verrus checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Winkle lands a really nice looking cross but Verrus seems unphased.
