PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Struker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daigon Kins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kins has chosen N.O.S as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Tommy Struker has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Tommy Struker seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tommy Struker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daigon Kins!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Struker enables Kins to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Struker manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Kins is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kins is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kins lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Kins throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Struker works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kins's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Kins has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Kins makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Kins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Struker has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kins has managed to get both his arms back between Struker's legs - danger averted.

Struker escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kins gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Struker is looking to stand up but Kins isn't so interested in that idea.

Kins controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Kins postures up and lands a big shot to Struker's brow.

Kins wants to control from the top but Struker keeps moving.

Struker wants to get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kins looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Kins seems to be looking for submissions.

Kins is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Kins moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Struker.
Kins lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Struker down.

Kins advances to mount.

Kins looking to finish Struker with some ground and pound. This is bad for Struker!

Kins looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Kins is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Struker can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Kins looking to control and managing it successfully.
Struker sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kins drops an elbow to the side of Struker's head.
Kins is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Kins is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Struker with the active half guard here but Kins passes nicely into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kins connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Struker some visible discomfort.
You can see the frustration on Struker's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Struker takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Struker wants to get back to his feet but Kins drags him back down.
Struker is breathing heavily.
Kins is looking to take a break and control but Struker is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daigon Kins dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Kins looks for the body kick but Struker saw that one coming.
Struker shoots for a takedown but Kins saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Tommy Struker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Struker tries to avoid it but Kins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Struker to the ground. Struker escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kins throws a lazy right hand but Struker sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Kins looks to score with a jab to the body but Struker is just out of range.
Struker misses with a takedown attempt
and Kins counters with a nice uppercut.
Kins throws a leg kick
and Struker counters with a series of strikes. Kins will be more careful next time no doubt.
Struker fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kins avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tommy Struker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Struker closes the distance and clinches up with Kins, looking for a takedown. Struker pushes Kins against the cage but Kins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Struker jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kins tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
No joy there for Kins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Kins lands with a thumping leg kick.

Kins tests Struker's chin there with a solid looking shot.


It looks like Tommy Struker has been cut.

Kins catches Struker napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Struker to the canvas!


Struker is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kins not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Oh Struker is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kins chips away with some ground and pound.
Kins is in close to Struker's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Kins with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Kins has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kins frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Kins! Struker is hurt baaadly! Kins is firing away with more strikes - Struker is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Daigon Kins!
Daigon Kins decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
