The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sheldon throws the kick towards the body but Aoki avoids it.

Sheldon works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

Frankie Sheldon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aoki looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sheldon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Aoki holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Aoki jumps guard but Sheldon stands there with Aoki around his waist. Aoki gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Aoki has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sheldon avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Keita Aoki. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Aoki has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Sheldon should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Aoki has tightened it up now! Sheldon should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
