Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ground Smasher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Weiland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smasher comes to the cage accompanied by Murder ink ruff ryderz remix. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Weiland!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Weiland gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Weiland wants to stand up but Smasher is controlling him.
Smasher will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Weiland trying to keep a closed guard but Smasher is proving a slippery customer.
Smasher stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Weiland swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Smasher is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Smasher trying to stand up but can't free himself from Weiland's guard.
Weiland lands a couple of shots from the bottom.
Weiland is looking to stand up but Smasher isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Smasher closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Weiland is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Smasher off and has taken his back!

Weiland is controlling the position but Smasher somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.

Smasher has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Weiland finds it's way round the side to connect with Smasher's head.

Weiland closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Weiland is pressing down on Smasher's thigh, looking to free his foot. Smasher is holding on for now.
It looks like Weiland is going to stand back up.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Weiland throws a push kick but Smasher slaps the foot to one side.
Weiland tries to clinch there but Smasher circles away.

Weiland drives through with a takedown into guard.

Smasher keeping moving, preventing Weiland from controlling successfully.
Smasher looking to hit a scissor sweep but Weiland is one step ahead there.

Smasher is trying to stick to Weiland's back but Weiland is turning into Smasher. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Smasher's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Weiland.

Smasher has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Weiland can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Weiland gets to his feet - Smasher follows without any prompting.
Smasher looks to score with a jab to the body but Weiland is just out of range.

Weiland is in a horrible position here. Smasher smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Weiland tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Smasher takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Smasher avoids the attempt from Weiland to control.

Smasher wants to pass the guard but Weiland is keeping the position.

Weiland is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Weiland is working an open guard so Smasher takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Smasher looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Weiland!
Weiland really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Smasher. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Smasher is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Weiland defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Smasher is trying to stick to Weiland's back but Weiland is turning into Smasher. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Smasher's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Weiland.

Smasher has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Weiland off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Smasher avoids a punch combination nicely.

Smasher moves in looking to clinch but Weiland pushes him off.
Smasher tries for a takedown but Weiland circles away easily
and Weiland counters with a series of strikes. Smasher will be more careful next time no doubt.
