The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smierdzielski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kavelin circles away quickly and effectively.
A clash of legs there as Kavelin blocks the low kick.
Smierdzielski swinging wildly here.
Smierdzielski shoots in but Kavelin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Kavelin has Smierdzielski up against the cage in a clinch.
Kavelin is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Smierdzielski looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Kavelin lands a nice shot to the body.
Smierdzielski tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Andrej Kavelin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Smierdzielski.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Kavelin.
Smierdzielski is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Kavelin breaks the clinch.

Smierdzielski tries to clinch up but Kavelin circles away and keeps his distance.
Smierdzielski walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Kavelin lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Kavelin throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Smierdzielski on the side of the head.
Smierdzielski is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smierdzielski walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Kavelin swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
