Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Slade Waterholder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jambo Alvez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Slade Waterholder!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jambo Alvez!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvez tests Waterholder's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Waterholder lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Slade Waterholder seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Waterholder throws a poor cross that misses
and Alvez counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Alvez lands an overhand right.
Waterholder throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Waterholder tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Waterholder misses with a series of wild punches.

Waterholder misses the body punch
and Alvez counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Waterholder throws a looping overhand right but Alvez ducks down to avoid it.
Alvez throws a right and a left that Waterholder avoids nicely.
Alvez checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

and Alvez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Alvez throws a right hand that Waterholder ducks under and follows up with a left that Waterholder also avoids with ease.

Alvez showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Waterholder.
Alvez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Waterholder dives in and grabs Alvez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alvez pushes down on Waterholder's head and hops out.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Waterholder has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Alvez finds it's way round the side to connect with Waterholder's head.

and Alvez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jambo Alvez dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Alvez feints a jab promting Waterholder to slip. Alvez then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Waterholder slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Alvez scores with the left hand. Waterholder knows he should have avoided that one.

Waterholder drops his hands momentarily and Alvez takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Alvez lands a jab to the head.
Waterholder does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Waterholder shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Alvez as he avoids it easily.
Waterholder looks to land a left hand but Alvez moved out of range nicely.

Waterholder ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Alvez moves away.

enabling Alvez to counter with a crisp jab.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Alvez, as that shot connected.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alvez cracks Waterholder with a good jab.
Waterholder tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Alvez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jambo Alvez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Waterholder's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


A combination from Alvez does no damage.
Alvez stuns Waterholder with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Waterholder throws a hook but Alvez blocks it.
Alvez throws a right and a left that Waterholder avoids nicely.
Waterholder tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Alvez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Alvez counters with a left to the body.

Waterholder looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alvez is fending him off so far but Waterholder persists. Nope, Alvez circles away and we're back to standing.

enabling Alvez to counter with a crisp jab.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Waterholder.

and Alvez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Alvez thuds his right hand into Waterholder's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Alvez stuffs the takedown attempt from Waterholder. Waterholder gets slowly back to his feet.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Waterholder. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Alvez swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Slade Waterholder has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Waterholder's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Alvez connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Waterholder scrambles back to his feet.
Waterholder looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Waterholder looks to land a combination but Alvez avoids it well.
Alvez lands a lovely overhand right.
Alvez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alvez scores with a crisp jab that stopped Waterholder in his tracks.
Alvez throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Waterholder on the side of the head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jambo Alvez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Alvez has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A very excited looking Jambo Alvez rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
