PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Storm Garp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Randall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Garp kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Rammstein- Liebe ist für alle da. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Storm Garp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Randy Randall!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Illya Tyunina and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Randall shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Randall closes this distance looking for a takedown but Garp circles away.
Randall is trying hard to land a takedown here. Garp sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Storm Garp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy Randall.
No luck for Randall with that takedown attempt.
Randall tries to clinch up but Garp circles away and keeps his distance.
Randy Randall seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Garp throws a hook but Randall avoids it easily.
Randall moves away from the strike by Garp.
Garp defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Randall.
Garp lands with a hook. Randall tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Garp works over Randall's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Randy Randall has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Randall throws a leg kick that misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Randall.
Garp swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Garp throws a series of strikes that have Randall backpedaling.

Nice combo by Garp! Oh, that's hurt him - Randall falls to the canvas and Garp follows him into side control.


Randall is rocked!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Randall's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Garp trying to control the action but Randall is working from the bottom.
Garp wants to stand but Randall has his arm trapped.
Garp staying calm.
Randall keeping his opponent close.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Randall regains half guard.
Garp prevents Randall from improving his position.
Randall wants to control but Garp is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A combination from Garp does no damage.
Randall tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Garp manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Garp throws a shot from downtown. Randall moves away and avoids it.

Garp gets caught flat footed, as Randall shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Randall pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Garp is keeping the position for now.
Garp is looking to stand up but Randall isn't so interested in that idea.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Randall showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Garp controls Randall momentarily but Randall frees himself.
Randall controls from within his opponent's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Randall throws a head kick that misses.
Randall doesn't manage to clinch there - Garp circles away.
Randall looks to clinch
and Garp counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Randall thinking.
Garp lands a right hook to the body.
Randall looks gassed!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Garp fails to land with a series of punches.
Garp staying out of range there.
Garp changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Garp tests Randall's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Garp lands with a cross.
Garp throws a right and a left that Randall avoids nicely.
Randall walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Garp misses with a wild body shot.
Randall fails in his attempt to clinch.
Garp feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Randalls jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Randall.
Randall looks up at the clock. Bad move! Garp lands a right hand from hell, dropping Randall. Garp pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Storm Garp!
