Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cole Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bryan Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cole Burns!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Bryan Adams!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams avoids the head kick by Burns.
Burns tries to bum rush Adams with a series of wild strikes but Adams uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Burns is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Burns tries to break the clinch but Adams is controlling the position.

Burns gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Burns stalling away here and it's allowed Adams to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Adams has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Cole Burns wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Burns closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Adams quickly recovers to half guard.

Adams controlling the position for now.
Adams regains full guard. Nicely done.
Burns trying to control but Adams is working from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Cole Burns wasn't doing enough on the ground.
A punch combination from Adams misses.

Burns misses with an attempted mid kick.
Adams throws a quick inside leg kick.
Some wild striking there from Adams.

Burns rushes Adams and presses him up against the cage.
A bit of stalling here from Adams.

Burns is trying to break the clinch but Adams has him pressed against the cage.
Burns pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Adams slowing the pace effectively.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Bryan Adams.

Burns shoots in and gets a takedown into Adams's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Adams closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Burns.
Adams gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Adams keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Adams kicks Burns off and gets back to his feet.
Bryan Adams is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Adams goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Burns scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Adams is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Burns off and has taken his back!
Adams has the hooks in. Burns is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Despite having Burns's back, Adams says stuff this ground business - let's go for a knockout! Burns seems baffled but is happy to be out of the difficult position!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Burns closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Adams to the mat! Adams manages to get full guard.
Adams wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Let's hope that Adams has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bryan Adams was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Burns moves into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Burns has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Burns drags the fight down to the ground.
Burns working a defensive guard but Adams manages to pass into side control anyway.
Burns looking for a sweep but Adams has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Adams controlling his opponent.

Adams stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Burns throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Adams tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Burns is in Adams's guard.
Burns trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Burns has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Adams is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Cole Burns will probably get the nod.

Adams will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Burns is trying to force a seperation but Adams has the dominant position.

Adams is fighting off a takedown attempt but Burns is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Adams to the mat. Adams regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Burns shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Burns showed some decent athleticism there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Burns is just content to waste time from the top position. Adams takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Adams pulls Burns in close to his closed guard and prevents Burns from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Adams will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Burns walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Adams checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Burns moves into the clinch.

Burns pulls Adams into guard.
Burns is looking to sweep but instead, Adams has passed into half guard.
Burns is trying to control but Adams passes into side control!

Adams stands up and beckons Burns to his feet.
Bryan Adams has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cole Burns is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Adams takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

And that's the end of the fight!
Cole Burns showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Burns has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
